Elevé Arts Academy is committed to teaching technical and creative excellence in the arts. Elevé offers classes from toddler to adult, in a range of dance, performing arts, and visual arts genres. Classes are lead by qualified educators in an environment that is uplifting, encouraging, and family friendly.
Debuting during the 2025-2026 school year, this program is meant for the dancer who would like to learn skills in dance without committing to the Leveled Program requirements. Dancers are able to pick and choose what classes suit their interests and schedule. This program encompasses all classes not included in the leveled program; ages 18 months to 18 years.
RECREATIONAL Dance PROGRAM
Elevé’s Leveled Dance Program is meant for the students ready to commit to developing their dance skills. This program begins in 1st grade and takes dancers all the way to 12th. Dancers in Level 1 are required to take Ballet and strongly encouraged to take another technique class. Dancers Level 2 - 5 are required to take at least two technique classes each week; one must be Ballet, the other can be Jazz, Contemporary, or another Ballet class. While focused on technical excellence, dancers are also instructed in creative skills of composition and improvisation.
LEVELED dance PROGRAM
Debuting during the summer of 2025, this program gives students the opportunity to explore other art forms. Beginning with vocal training, Elevé will soon be expanding to other visual and performing arts. As with all other Elevé classes, these classes will focus on building technical skill and creative expression. Group and private lessons are available.
Visual and performing ARTS
Elevé is a non-competitive studio choosing to focus on building students with strong technical and artistic skill as well as high caliber performance abilities.
WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE?
While Elevé Arts Academy teaches many traditional genres of dance like Ballet, Contemporary, and Jazz, it’s approach to teaching these subjects is unique to our studio. At Elevé, we:
Build Athletes and Artists - Elevé dancers are trained not only to be excellent technicians in all genres of dance, but to also understand how to create movement. In each technique class, dancers are given monthly prompts to work on composition and improvisation skills within the genre of the class.
Integrate School Subjects into Dance - Some of our classes like Dance Preschool are focused on integrating typical school curriculum topics into dance. Made to support the kinesthetic learner that may be struggling in a traditional preschool environment.
Teach Faith Based Classes - Based in non-denominational Christian beliefs, dancers in these classes learn Bible stories and themes through the lens of dance.
Encourage Acro Training - To be a performer in the industry these days, dancers are encouraged to have Acro skills in addition to dance technique. Similar to tumbling, this class teaches tumbling skills like rolls, cartwheels, and walkovers. These skills are often showcased in recital choreography.
FOSTERING CREATIVITY
Learning how to dance is not just about learning technique. Being able to mindfully create original movement is also crucial to a dancer’s education. Most studios follow a learn and execute model where dancers are shown what, where, when, and how with the teacher’s choreography. While this is important in dance education, this does not train a dancer to think critically or creatively in the same way that allowing them to experiment with movement does.
Young children learn best through experience, experimenting, and having fun. Carefully planned lessons using exciting props, children’s stories, and games help to engage little minds and energetic bodies. The focus in these classes will be to help dancers find the joy of moving and confidence in what they create.
Older children’s classes balance learning a carefully developed technical curriculum with cultivating creativity. This is done through composition and improvisation exercises based around the Elements of Dance: Body, Energy, Space, and Time. Dancers will regularly be given prompts to help stretch their inventiveness in movement, as solo work and in small groups.
EVERY CLASS at Elevé Arts Academy supports the goal of fostering the innate creativity of each student. To showcase this, some of the material that dancers create will also be worked into the end of year recital dances, giving even the youngest dancers a chance to share their own movement.
